My heart for serving women gave birth to Viumbe Birth and Wellness, LLC. I believe strongly that I was created to help, serve, and care for others so that they can fully do what they were created to do. These massage certifications are what introduced me to birth work and now I can't imagine doing anything else.

If a doula’s qualifications do not include in-person training, an acceptable alternative is if the doula has worked, or is working, with a mentor to gain hands-on practitioner experience.

Doula Services
I am a DONA International Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula specializing in energy healing, herbalism, and yoga. I have completed 200-RYT hour training in Vinyasa Flow, 24-hr Advance Prenatal yoga teacher training with a focus on women of color through Black Orchid, and 85-hr prenatal teacher training through Awakened Spirit Yoga. I am inspired by the healing power of plants + herbs and have been formally trained herbalism for both prenatal support as well postpartum support.
My second pregnancy held another unique set of surprises as we soon discovered we would be having not one baby, but twins — a boy and a girl — to welcome into our family. With one medically fragile child, as well as twins to chase around, it has certainly been a wild, but fun, ride. When I’m not attending a birth or spending time with my crazy kiddos, I enjoy cooking, reading, and making special memories with my family.
I took my first doula training with DONA International in 2014 and a second with The Birth Well in 2016. In an effort to support as many growing families as I can I've added childbirth education, placenta encapsulation and a handful of other offerings to the services I provide. I enjoy building relationships with not only my clients but also other professionals and am happy to connect the two when needed.

Although my husband and I prepared for childbirth through Bradley Method Childbirth classes and a significant amount of reading, our first two children were born by cesarean section. With a knowledgeable and supportive care provider and doula for my third birth, I was able to have a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). We support individuals and their partners in a variety of settings including hospitals, birth centers, and private homes.
